Normally BSNL Prepaid and Post-paid
Mobile subscribers receive unwanted calls or SMS from various
telemarketers who promote their products or services via these calls or
SMS. Mobile subscribers always want to restrict these annoying calls or
SMS.
As per TRAI (Telecom Regulatory
Authority of India) instructions, BSNL starts a new service called Do
Not Disturb (DND), using which a customer can easily block or stop
unwanted telemarketing calls/sms by sending a SMS or by IVRS.
Here is the detailed procedure to be
followed by a customer to activate BSNL Do Not Disturb (DND) Services at
any time in simple steps as follows.
Activate BSNL Do Not Disturb (DND) by IVRS:
Customers can make a call from his BSNL
number to toll free number 1909 and follow the instructions on
interactive voice response system (IVRS).
Activate BSNL Do Not Disturb (DND) by SMS:
Customers need to send an SMS to 1909 with different optional code for various categories.
START0 to 1909: For Full Blocking (DND, full blocking)
START1 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Banking/Finance/CC (Rest all will get blocked)
START2 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Real Estate (Rest all will get blocked)
START3 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Education (Rest all will get blocked)
START4 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Health (Rest all will get blocked)
START5 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Automobiles and Consumer Goods (Rest all will get blocked)
START6 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Entertainment/IT/Broad Casting/Communication (Rest all will get blocked)
START7 to 1909: Receiving SMS on Tourism and Leisure (Rest all will get blocked)
STOP<Option> to 1909: For Stopping existing option(s)
START2, 3: combination of different preferences but separated by comma (,)
Deactivate BSNL Do Not Disturb (DND) by SMS:
STOP to 1909: subscriber will be de-registered
